I have also had Tokina and Tamron AF lenses, and in my view they have been more reliable than the Sigmas I've owned or borrowed. This has been my experience, too. However, to be honest, I have not had much experience with Sigma lenses - none with any autofocus lenses ever, and none with any

I'm very happy with the performance of my Vivitar Series 1 70-210/3.5. Very sharp and contrasty. However, I find my self using the DA 50-200 more and more, due to its size and excellent performance. The loss of a stop plus isn't often a problem for me. However, I will pull out the Vivitar when

Jens, I don't know about the others but I have an ATX 80-200/2.8 manual focus and I love it. Bokeh is a bit harsh like the other Tokinas but all in all a superb lens. Cost me $249.00 US in excellent condition, had to get it cleaned for $66.00 but Adorama reimbursed me for that. Don
