I have v3 of the same lens. There is no macro switch. You simply focus
closer.
My copy of the lens is in need of a CLA (I believe the problem is sticky
aperture). I have just bought another one. Think it will arrive tomorrow.

I have the version 2. It does not have a macro switch, it simply focusses
close enough to have a 1:4 magnification ratio. Which yields 1:1 when
printed at 4x6, so you _could_ call it macro...

Only the Version 1 lens has a separate macro switch.
By the way, Mark, I've come up with a copy of the gold 50th Anniversary
version of the VS1 70-210 lens (it's just a gold version of the Version 4
lens), so I'll have to get you a new family
