The list software may have ideas of its own.
When I was subscribed to the list using my Earthlink email address I'd
regularly get blocked by the SPAM Blacklist software y'all subscribed to.
Some "business" customer of Earthlink would SPAM & the server node would
get blacklisted ... then MY

Not horrendously expensive here, as long as your consumer unit (fusebox) has
room for it. Cartridge types (a base that fits the rail in the unit with a
replaceable active part) vary from about £30 to £150. No more than an hour's
work for the sparky to fit it. Using surge protector plugs on
I'd get an electrician in to check whether the neutral connection has
been compromised.

Surge protectors are mandatory on new installs in the UK, now, probably because
of the poor state of the supply infrastructure. We had three failures last
year (with accompanying surges) alone. None so far this year, surprisingly.

Rick, we have a whole-house surge protector, it is wired in through the main
circuit panel. It seems to help. Or maybe my running in circles three times
shouting “boo Canon, boo Nikon, yeah Pentax” is what has provided the
protection. Absence of evidence is not evidence of absence.

Doug,
It's certainly not normal! We've been in this house 37 years and have never
had an event like this before.

Nevertheless, for a very long period I couldn't subscribe and then gave
up trying. As I recall the "server/app" didn't particularly care for
"att.net" at the time, but it may have been something else. Nothing
personal intended. Enjoy the Holiday Season.
