I thought "strap lugs" were the little bumps with a hole in them
protruding form the side of the camera that the "triangular rings" fit
through?

Your note came through.
What comes on the camera is the traditional typical triangular split gizmo,
with an added plastic sleeve that protects the camera body from scratches. The
645Z has a similar plastic collar on the triangular piece.
The triangular gizmo comes attached/installed. I find it
Understood...
It seems by the way, from the (p)review videos on K-1 that I've just
watched, that these are actually circular rings... At least they look
this way on the videos...

"Lugs" are the attachment points built permanently into the body. A
split ring or strap might connect to the lugs. See, for example:

It's a music thing. When you're playing percussion and your instrument

three corners, like a pirate's hat. Then send it to Oxfordshire to be eaten

It's a ring for attaching a strap. And it is shaped like a triangle. So it
isn't really a ring. Haven't looked in my K-1 package but earlier Pentax
cameras came with them, so I would guess they're in there.

First imagine a hat with a wide, circular brim. Then fold the brim to make
three corners, like a pirate's hat. Then send it to Oxfordshire to be eaten
with relish.
