Hi,
I think I'm going to try to shoot it too.. Moonrise here (California)
is at 6 pm and totality is between 7.23 pm and 8.45 pm.. I guess I'll
try to shoot the onset of totality when the moon is lower in the sky.
It's cloudy here too, though, and there's a thunderstorm forecast - I
hope that

I did not shoot it. It was a surreal environment to watch it for me though.
I was at the finish line at the Ironman Florida triathlon and the eclipse
could clearly be seen above and to the north of the finish line.

The sky was very clear tonight for the eclipse.
Using the links Bob and someone else forwarded on how to shoot this event i tried
aroll in
the SP500 last night with the tak 200 and 2x.
I hope i adjusted properly for the 2x.Did some short bulb shots near the end at
various X
seconds
opened.
I tried to get a few, although my lunar shooting has left much to be
desired in the past. I used my 500 mm mirror lens, as it's the only one
that gives me an acceptably large image.
It was a great eclipse, however. At least where I was, the sky was
clear an we had a great view. Easily the best

I did. Some shots with a 50mm and a 200mm, varied the exposures.
Hopefully I'll get the Pleiades in some of them as well.
