I'd like it better without the shelf at the
bottom. Otherwise, pretty cool.
I did take one without the shelf (very)

One of the good things -- perhaps the only gpod thing -- about living

So on a long summer's evening, when the torchlight procession is under
way, and you're lucky enough this year to be outside the wicker man,
what kind of exposure do you think is best to catch the firebrands
against the evening sky, while still being able to make out details of
the snaggle-toothed
Duly noted ;-)

No flash. Take a spotmeter reading of the street or a walker's neutral colored
clothing and go about a half stop under. If possible, you can spotmeter the
torch flame and shoot about three stops under (placing it at zone 8).

Excellent shot. A little more contrast (applied in curves so as not
to move the shadow or highlight points) might be okay. But it's great
as shown. You are the birdmaster, Christian. And that's a good thing
to be.
I agree.
cheers,

I am debating the idea that fences might fit nicely in my series theme.
Collage/montage type of thing. Anyway, have a lot to shoot the next two

I think this is a nice composition. Placing the fence at the top of the
frame is a bit unexpected and more interesting than a conventional
composition.
I'd say it's a keeper:-).

This is a species I was hoping to see/photograph while I'm down
This is the kind of abstract that I find myself attempting and failing
at miserably by trying to be too clever. This is very nice, sharp with
good detail. (Damn maybe digital does make better photographs, or at
least better in a different style). I really hate you...

Frank, you need a fast 50mm or 35mm equivalent. Say a 24mm or 35mm
f2.0. The M 35mm is a lovely match for the *ist-D and feels much like
a 50 f1.7 does the MX. It would be perfect if it weren't for the lack
of aperture information being communicated from lens to body. I haven't
actually

I like this one because of the no shelf thing, but the more I looked
at the first one, the more I liked it. Something about the colours,
some interesting shadows,
Thanks Frank. It might have been quite nice when new. I think they did a good
job on the paint in the late twenties. When I was a teenager I had a 34 Ford
Tudor Sedan that still had the original burgundy paint. It buffed out very
nicely. I think it was lacquer.
