Hi, Ken,
There is no way to adjust camera settings with the IR release.
Would suggest an aperture of F8, once totality is achieved, with an ISO of 100.

Here's a series of photos taken of early 18th century Navajo defensive sites in
the Dinétah region of northwestern New Mexico, the ancestral homeland of the
Navajo. There are also photos of a rock art panel dating several centuries
earlier. The first link explains the images.
I got curious and downloaded the K-3 manual, and damned if I can tell.
I think the K-5II allows bracketing with the mirror locked up, but
haven't tried it. You have time, perhaps a little experimentation is in
order.

Hi PDML’ers,
I’m studying the manual for my K-3 to prepare for the upcoming eclipse. I want
to capture the solar corona with a telephoto + doubler (A400/5.6 + A2X-S), to
do so I’d like to shoot an exposure bracketed sequence with the mirror locked

Blurb is running a universal special today. Unlike most discounts that require
you to be ordering your own book, this one is on an order. Saved me about
$16.50 on my order for an image wrapped of 2017 PDML Annual. Code is
EVERYTHING25.
