I enjoyed taking the image even tho the rain was at times coming sideways &
it was cold even for an October day in the Upper Peninsula, but with the
right clothes it was tolerable.

I liked the challenge of World photo day - I just wish it were not in
the middle of the summer.
It was 2012 that we did the music thing? good grief, where has the time
gone?
Spare me the evaluative adjectives (humorous, cute) as subject matter
please.
But subjects like "wind" that have

Rather tough subject matter (for lack of a better word) this time...
Thanks to Brian and all the participants.
My two favourites are :
The Sand Sower by Darren Addy
Eagle Harbor Lighthouse by Ken Waller
Darren's has a threatening look...
Strangely, Ken's image look inviting to me!

Some suggested themes for 2016:
* World Photo Day - this one was popular this year - worth doing again?
* Songlines - Pick a Song or Piece of Music and make a photo to suit.

Thanks to all for who mentioned "The Sand Sower". Another enjoyable
gallery and thanks to Brian for his work in assembling.
My favorite of the bunch this month was Pat's "Sailing off Arran". A
beautiful image of a beautiful scene.
I liked Brian's "White-Bellied Sea Eagle" a lot. Only wish it had

Ann,
Ghm... you prefer "nonhumourous" and "uncute"? ;-)
It's interesting that I had exactly the same reaction about the song one..
Brian,
I appreciated the sequence (proximity) of some of the proposed themes,
so I thought of a combined one: "tranquility at rush hour".
And in a similar manner,
First of all, major, major kudos to Lowepro for replacing my beat up
fastpack 350, which itself was a free replacement for my previous one.
If, after seeing the pictures they had said, "Nope, it's just plain worn
out, you can't blame that on us", I would have had no arguments.
They no longer

Living here around much smaller lakes, those waves look scary to me. But
dramatic too of course, so I wish I was there with a camera.

Ken, I would be happy with that assessment of any of my work. I wish I
had the patience you have when taking birds & wildlife. You can see I
prefer things that stay perfectly still. Thanks for the encouragement!

Gosh I thought the group did a great job with a tough concept. Two
windmills were obvious but well done with my nod going to Dan for making
a rather ugly subject into a rather beautiful one. Pat T had a subtle
sail boat & Ken dramatic windy sea. Theme wise Darren's storm might be
the best. But
Very nice, I spent a lot of time shooting ice abstracts last year. It is
the only thing I like about winter.
