It would be nice to come up with something for medium format that
doesn't cost a terrible amount of money. Right now I'm thinking that a
light table and a slab of anti-newtonian glass would be best.

I still have three scanners, LS8000 for roll film, V700 for generating
contact sheets, rough scans and 4x5+. For 35mm film stocks I use a
dedicated 35mm scanner which is optimised for the task, it's a Konica
Minolta DiMAGE Scan Elite 5400 II, it's the bee's knees, that said any
scanning is a PITA.

I ordered it last night and it will arrive on Wed. I printed out the rebate
form. Deadline for rebate is 4/30. Looking forward to trying it out and will
definitely report to the list. Hopefully, my experience will be the same as
Godfrey's. :-).

How much improvement? It is truly like a whole new computer. Lightroom

Yes, I was fooled by my fast and dirty way of identifying birds. I did a google
image search for bald eagle underside view, and a picture of a turkey vulture
came up, along with several legitimate eagles. I should have noticed that the
head had to be small to be hidden in that view. But all
A bald eagle's wings would have all black feathers; white on the head &
tail, but not on the wings. The white tail feathers would be spread out
more.
I think others have already identified it as a turkey vulture.

It’s a great shot. Love those flowers. My interest began with my California
Poppy experiment of 2008. A friend in Santa Barbara sent me some seeds, and I
succeeded in growing them in Michigan, but the blooms didn’t manage to reseed
