every year for Fathers' Day. This year was no exception:

Re: (which photos) I'm going to try to sell this Saturday

2017-06-18 Thread ann sanfedele

So I have to ask - which ones?
You really can't judge the situation on ONE day - not really a show.
Concentrate on a tight theme, matt a few and take those around . If you
get a palce to display them, or a show at a real gallery, you'll be
framing them too... but they are more likely to sell.

Even though some are to friends, they wouldn't buy something without
liking the shot they bought -

In one day, I'd say you should consider it something of a success.

Here's a shot from today, a tiny moss that only grow on the nutrient-rich
patches of yesteryear's excrements of specific animals.
http://www.alunfoto.no/tidslinjer/2017/06/17/
In this case most likely a cake of cow dung. Related species of moss specialise on moose
dung or lemming dung, to name a couple. The "umbrella" produce a scent
attractive to flies, and use them to propagate its spores. It is the only moss known to
use insects to spread.
K-3 and DFA 100/2.8 macro.

I probably didn’t pay much attention to the birds until I became interested in
photographing them. I always assumed that the moms stopped feeding the young
once they were out of the nest. Apparently not. In any case, I enjoy watching
them now.

Re: Peso: a photo from yesterday

Rick - Now I guess I should PESO the -other- shot you refer to that you
liked :-) - I have one more other as well from that day in that
gallery- maybe I'll get to it soon...

Of course, you know me, I usually give my crops a lot of thought so I'll
disagree with your suggestion.. To me the chains and the chicken wire and
graffiti go together... I cropped some tourists off the right side of
the full frame... also the grays balance the silver paint on the other
side.. and then

there is my preferred aspect ratio thingy.

This is a shop I pass every day - just happen to be passing when there
was some good light and when I actually was carrying my K-5. and the
dress on the right was one I especially liked. The backstory is that
this is one of the stores damaged in the horrendous gas explosion fire
on March 26th, 2015 that made the national news... If I panned to the
left you would see an empty lot where the buildings that blew up once
were...

This shot below was taken the day after the blast... (I live less than a
block away from the site and had walked by a scant 20 minutes before it
blew.)

https://annsan.smugmug.com/On-the-Road-or-On-Foot/2015-and-all-that/i-4ntpJWf/A

Glad you liked it , anyway

I like it. I’d like it even more if the bright unrelated stuff on the left was

PS: The shot before it is great. Very well spotted and composed.
