A photo-friend and I took a walk around the museum last week. It stands on a
hill next to the Schuylkill River, on the site of Philly’s first public water
reservoir (circa 1815). The dam was built in 1821, and powered pumps via
waterwheels to replace unreliable steam engines. The Art Museum
crowds in them more than those that do.

This is just a modest potted cactus until mid-December, when bright red flowers
