In the Detroit area he best choice is Oakland Photographic Repair. You
can find there number through directory assistance or in the phone book.
They're in a strip mall just south of 13 Mile on Dequindre. I believe

Hi Detroiters (and everybody else), Where is a good
place to take Pentax equipment for servicing (like
CLA). The only shop I'm familiar with is Camera Mart,
and I'm not sure they do service work (never asked!).
Thanks! Mike Steele
This came to me, meant for the list.
FWIW, I absolutely disagree with Frantisek's description of thens. I've had one since
they came out, and have never had any trouble manually focusing with it.

Hi Paul,
I know Woodward Camera well - I bought a new ME Super (black body) from them in 1981,
when Pentax was their largest line. If you talk to their people who have been around
since then, they are hard pressed to say anything good about Pentax Marketing. To use
their phrase, Pentax Gave
Hi Bill,
Adray Camera on Big Beaver near Dequindre has a fair selection of Pentax
stuff. The guy at the counter told me they're going to get the MZ-S. I
keep asking for it in stores and act surprised and dismayed when they
say they don't have one. I'm not going to buy one, but I do enjoy
tweaking

The FA is very nice in my limited experience of it.

Could you describe these muted colors in detail?
I haven't noticed anything like this so far with M lenses...
(Just bought the M2/35.)

35mm is my favorite focal length for general photography. I like the perspective
better than a Normal lens. I also like the speed of an f2 version, as it allows me
to shoot in many of the spots walking around lands me in.
I currently have the A version of the 35mm f2, which I got at a very

On the basis of what you've described, I'd say there may be a lot more
to the sharpness issue than meets the eye. May I suggest that you
actually test the ~lens~ by removing the motor drive, mounting the
camera on a substantial and well secured tripod, and by using a

I think Doug Brewer either has or *wants* the FA 35/2.0 AL
Either way, I know he's used it and is very impressed.
