Larry, the Tamron Back Caps are pretty good at covering the Electronic Contacts on the Lens. There was a Seller offering Lens Back Caps that were Weather Proof for some $ 10 or so each. Try Googling. It does cover the electronic contacts as well. A friend of mine has the K-5 IIs with the 18-135 WR
