I figured it out eventually. The setting for letting the camera work
with non-A aperture has to be set to allow focal length setting for
shake reduction, otherwise it wont let you. Once I did that, I picked
55mm which was closest to 60 (but not over).

I really like the first image (232)! The sharp and colorful bug,
against the blurred white foreground and background, is very
effective. In the other shot the bug is too small, IMHO.

recently, handheld. The weather here has spring coming at least a
month early, all the bugs are out sans mosquitoes (thank goodness).
Was gonna take a pic of these plants we have in the garden that are
like velvety white and saw this
