[Phono-L] Triumph bedplates, Model B and D
Hello, What is the difference between the model B and D triumph bedplate? http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItemitem=230450343741 Is this a D bedplate? I only have an A and E so I have no way to tell. Thanks, Steve ___ Phono-L mailing list http://phono-l.oldcrank.org
Re: [Phono-L] Triumph bedplates, Model B and D
The model b has a little stanchion next to the pulley. I think it was eliminated on the model D due to the need for space to pull out the 2/4 gearing shift. The D was the first model with the factory 2/4 gearing. You could add it to the earlier model, but the shift mechanism didn't need so much space to the right of the pulley. Is that as clear as mud?? Re: [Phono-L] Triumph bedplates, Model B and D
John, totally clear. I should have specified the lower bed plate. I purchased a triumph D and the lower bed plate got broken in shipping, I wondered what the difference in the lower bedplates with the B and D. Re: [Phono-L] Triumph bedplates, Model B and D
Would that be the motor frame that got broken? Is it weldable? There are some blacksmiths who can successfully weld cast iron.
