Hello,
I am trying to understand something about PicoLisp and Fixpoint numbers.
I am writing an app and would consider PicoLisp should I get my head
around Lisp. But I do not understand how to use numbers.
I use a lot of floating point numbers and lots of calculations. From

I would like to thank all that helped with questions. My apologies for
the very, very, very long message below. I tried to detail my recent
experiences.
I have spent a fair amount of the last 4 days playing with PicoLisp. I
thought I would give it a try even though it is quite primitive
Thanks for the reply. My apologies for so long a delay in replying. Work
jumped up and slapped me real hard last week. No time for anything else. :(

Hello,
Thanks for all the help. It is a little more complicated than in
languages with support for floating point, but it appears manageable. I
think I am slowly wrapping my mind around it.
What I didn't see in any of the examples is this

Hello,
I am new to PicoLisp and Lisp in general.
I know that PicoLisp is not Common Lisp and is much closer to the
original Lisp. However it seems most books are Common Lisp oriented.
While browsing Amazon I was wondering if any of these books might be
good to get a good understanding of
Thanks, that solved the problem.
I had installed the 16.12 version.
Again thanks.

Hi Jimmie,
welcome to this list! :)
Hello, I have successfully installed PicoLisp in my ~/Dev/PicoLisp

I have also made the symlinks for a

other reasons I've made a small PicoLisp Docker container including

Enjoy PicoLisp and the community surrounding it, I'm a big fan.

Yes, it is 64 bit.
This is strange. I did the same thing for the one I downloaded which
identifies itself as 17.5.16.
I entered the src directory and did make. I then went to the src64
directory and did make. I did this for both 16.12 and the 17.5.16.
I thought I was using the 64bit

Hello,
When I browse the source for either VIP or the Wiki I do not see any
explicit licensing for these applications. I understand that PicoLisp is
licensed under the MIT license. However, I do not know that it is
explicit that these applications are part of the PicoLisp language.

Thanks for the links.
However, I get a Not Found error for the LISP Programmers Manual. I
searched on that site but could not find it. But I searched and found it
here.

Thanks to all who reply/replied.
To me dev mailing lists like this one create a community. I like things
that make it personal. I have been on many mailing lists long enough
that I know most all the players. I also know something about them as
people.
Like now I know that chri enjoys funny

I have also made the symlinks for a global install in XUbuntu 17.04.
I have also made the symlinks for libncurses.
I have also installed Vip so that I can learn it along with PicoLisp.
However, I am having problems

I am exploring PicoLisp again after several years. The idea of PicoLisp
is so very appealing. It is getting my reality to fit in its idea.
I have revisited my original problem from this thread.
