Hi all,
Speaking of small pinhole cameras:
a manufacturer of laser drilled pinholes once sent me a 0.001
pinhole good for an optimal focal length of under 0.5mm!! I couldn't
possible make a camera with such focal length.
I just read Michael Crichton's new novel called 'Prey' in which there
Hi all
A pinhole friend of mine (who is not on the list) showed me a great
pinhole-like portrait that one of his students made recently using an
imageing device made with drinking straws. The image is on the web at:

Great stuff Guillermo. It must have been a bugger to poke all those
different sized holes in the foil though.
Just kidding ;)

Hi
A friend of mine makes gum, cyanotype and van dyke brown prints with paper
negatives by peeling the paper backing off the resin coating. The image
attaches to the resin and it very thin. You then need to use a frame to
hold it flat during exposure but the exposure times are very
Camera was an old Nikon F3 with a pie tin pinhole body cap. I used Fuji

enough light coming through to allow some limited framing through the
viewfinder but then you need to close it off before exposure. I took the
I am pretty sure I have seen iron on transfer media for inkjet printers.
Don't know how well it works or if it is very permanent though.

Hi Adam,
I was introduced to pinhole photography by a friend who was doing a PhD on
bee vision. He used pinhole and quartz lensed cameras to record how
different Australian flowers look to bees who have UV sensitive eyes. Some
flowers look really plain in normal light but incredible in UV.
FWIW my favorite zone plate/pinhole conversion is an old Kodak folding
brownie. Its nice because it was cheap, fits in your pocket, is 6x9 format,
has a longish focal length, has a shutter with three speeds plus B and T
settings and can take a cable release. Also the catch on the folding bit
Quite right, sorry.
The other cool thing about having a sealed pinhole camera is that you
can
fill the camera with water before you expose the image to increase the
field
of view (due to the diffraction of light at the air/water interface)
Not that ot matters too much, but the phenomenon
Hi Mike,
A few years ago I made a camera out of an old 8x10 cibachrome developing
tank that I had. I sealed the pinhole with a red glass filter and developed
the images in the camera.

Hi Guillermo
I am interested in using the reciprocity formula that you posted for Fuji
colour film too but the formula and the formula that you use in the example
are different.
(1) Corrected Time = (4.44 x Time x Time) + (1.311 x Time) - 3.55
vs. (2) Corrected Time = (4.44 x Time) +
