Hi. For me AlienBBC 2.5 works great on SC7.3.2/debian linux.
I have noticed that, probably due to connection failures or timeouts,
my machine can pile up inactive mplayer/flac processes over time. They
take no CPU, but a little memory and I am looking to make the headless
server as reliable as

Is this a new AlienBBC install or an upgrade from a working one that is
now broken ?
Can you get a log (See WebUI Settings/Advanced/Logging) with
player.source set to DEBUG and plugin.alienbbc set to DEBUG
1. Note time
2. Try a station
3. Copy into a plain text file *all* log entries from

I used the Squeezecenter Extension Downloader for the installation; I
did not install AlienBBC myself from the zip file.
I think it may be Gentoo specific as ED works OK for Linux for other
users.

This problem occurs with some Linux distros and more recent mplayer
builds.
Check out this thread - it has a modified mplayer.sh inpost #2 (make
sure to mark executable after downloading.) which you could try to see
if it helps.
Displaying the BBC program images and the station logos for live
(national regional) stations was one of the small enhancements made
for 2.5. These are best seen on Squeezeplay and SBC.
The BBC images use a wide screen format which is displayed correctly
on Squeezeplay and SBC but
Triode and bpa, many thanks for all the work on AlienBBC, it is a great
facility to have available - courtesy of your efforts.
all the best, and well done Shane Lowry!

I'm running SqueezeCenter 7.3.2 on Gentoo Linux, and just installed the
AlienBBC v2.5-7.3 plugin via the Extension Downloader.
When I try to play a stream (for example, Guy Garvey's Finest Hour in
BBC 6 Music), I get the following error in

AlienBBC Release 2.5 for 7.3.x and 7.4 is now available through
Extension Downloader. This release has been in beta for a while and is
primarily intended to fix bugs and ensure compatibility with
SqueezeCenter and the BBC site. More details have been discussed on the
beta thread:
By the way, maybe it's not new, but I've just noticed that I'm getting
thumbnail images with (some?) streams. Composer of the week listen
again has a nice composer related thumbnail.
New or not - thanks for a wonderful add-on.
And one small wish for the future.
I pause by hand - I remember my
