Dear list,
I've installed pulseaudio in a headless server. I can play files through all my
speakers (5.1) using alsa directly, but pulseaudio only creates estereo
profiles for the alsa sink. I've tried to force channels=6 in default.pa for
the alsa-sink but it keeps loading it as a stereo sink.

speaker-test -Dsurround51:0 -c 6 -t wav
works fine, all speakers work

1. Enable network support and use a GUI client on a non-headless
system
(e.g. PULSE_SERVER

Is there something I can do or is it a bug in pulseaudio??

Ok, this might be useful.
Digging into /proc/asound I've find something that might has something to do
with this issue. In /proc/asound/card0/stream0 the 6 channels mode uses a
format that I haven't seen that is supported by Pulseaudio. It tells it uses
format S24_3LE. Is this mode supported in
-size-msec?
Thank you very much,
