1) as PDF (v1.4, two layers graphic and text, text searchable)

That's great - the text layer makes it very easy to search for text in a
scanned document even though it looks like a graphic. Is the OCR part pretty
reliable and needing little proof reading/correction afterward?

That sounds fantastic. You are welcome!

We have space in our server acount. Have you thought of centralizing all
the docs?

If you think that is well, you can send me the files via email or
through sftp (secure ftp over ssh) to my home server.

Many docs can be scanned again if you have better quality paper copies.

We scanned at monocrome (1 bit) 300 dpi. to minimize the final file size.

Can you convert to PDF? This is not important, we can, but using the
option to scan documents from Acrobat the end file are smaller.
Documents created from images of pages the document takes up more space.

IF you are a new user to torrents, your torrent software settings are
IMPORTANT, setting your OUTBOUND speed/limits is a major factor on your
inbound speed (at least with the torrent software I have played with)
Curtail your outbound to 10% - 20% of your max outbound speed. This
helps the inbound a lot (usually)

Thank you Marcel. Enjoy it.

We have announced the launch in advance, but we were unable to contact
many authors. We hope that this is not a problem for them. We do this
with respect for their work.

Personally, I think the QL now needs a push, because there are many
collectors who are looking QL but do not know how it works, and there
are some QL users who seek new experiences, and need information.

We hope to help with this.

[Ql-Users] Sinclair QL documents, manuals and magazines

2009-01-11 Thread sinclairql.es
This is the year of the 25th anniversary of the QL. For several months
in Sinclair QL Spanish Resources been preparing for this event a wide
collection of PDF material about the QL now put at your disposal.

More than 100 manuals, books and magazines (yes, in English) that have
gone through the scanner with better or worse luck in terms of quality
concerns, but that insurance will be useful for the community because
this material years ago which has started to dwindle and unfortunately
we are increasingly less to keep alive the flame of QL.

The documents include:

The book The definitive handbook QL SuperBASIC of Jan Jones, the
creator of the QL programming language: The SuperBASIC. This is a book
published by McGraw Hill and was re-edited by Quanta later.

It also highlights the manual QL Technical Guide by Tony Tebby, with
all the secrets on a QDOS programmer.

Items on the other hand is varied: Leguajes programming and compilers,
toolkits and extensions to the operating system, game manuals, manuals
of many productivity programs, manuals on specific hardware, 5 books and
12 issues of the journal QL World.

And the thing does not end here, as we have several books and manuals in
preparation.

DOWNLOADS:

All this documentation is available on the link:
http://www.speccy.org/sinclairql/archivo/docs/docs.htm

If you want to download all the material once for storage and off-line
review, we have created a torrent to help:

CONTRIBUTE:

The web, as always, is open to anyone who wants to contribute. If you
