Re: [Ql-Users] Qptr manual 6.04
Wolfgang, thanks for keeping these documents up-to-date. Thanks especially for this sentence in the QPTR manual (that made it in a couple of releases ago) >Note also that most device drivers, when requested to open a directory will, >if no such directory exists, open the next >existing higher level directory. >Most QL software expects this behaviour. which kind of was a revelation when I stumbled across it - That is, apparently, not documented anywhere else and gave an explanation why one of my drivers didn't work as expected with some programs. No, time warp : done before you mentioned the problem! Wolfgang, are you willing to further maintain the documents? Two issues came to my mind that are present in newer PTR/WMAN versions and not covered in the documents anywhere yet (Some people will never be satisfied… ;) ): There’s still some mentioning here and there that jobs that don’t have their windows as topmost in the pile and try to output to the screen will be suspended - With Marcel’s PE_BGON and PE_BGOFF changes this „feature“ can at least be switched off in WMAN2. According to Marcel (and my tests) IOP.SPRY is not implemented on GD2 high-color screens. Maybe you want to mention this should you intend to produce a future version. OK, I did add the section on background I/O in the concept section for that. According to Marcel (and my tests) IOP.SPRY is not implemented on GD2 high-color screens. Ah yes. Thanks, I'll correct that. Maybe you want to mention this should you intend to produce a future version. I certainly shall.
