You mean my basic program to patch binaries and/or EasyMenu files? Can supply it to you again if needed. I don't know how much of a great task it was for Marcel to write Wman 2 and Easyptr 4 (he probably wants to forget it!) but I am S glad he did! Did it so long ago, I actually forgot most of the pains :-) But am really glad you like it! Marcel ___ QL-Users Mailing List http://www.q-v-d.demon.co.uk/smsqe.htm

Dilwyn Jones writes: I have also patched (for my own use so far) EasyPTR's AppMan4. An extra button lets you switch to the next palette so you can see your newly created menu's in all 5 colour themes (0-3=sys pal, 4=Marcel's inbuilt theme). Per Witte's Sprv Viewer also has such a button and my AppMan can call an adapted version insteed of the inbuilt sprite viewer. I think that most people using System Palettes only really use number 0 at the moment, but hopefully that will change over time. What Bob wrote was that by clicking a button you can choose which system palette you wish to present (0..3). Many programs allow this. Programs should allow users to change or configure which system palette to use. Programmers only have to add in the facility to alter the value of the default palette and make sure the program menues at least look ok in the four standard system palettes. Although the programmer has no idea how his program presents on any user's machine, by using the correct or sensible palette elements the chances are that his program will display correctly. Some (eg D-Miner) also allow you to specify a program-specific palette. In D-Miner the program-specific palette is even passed to external menus (ie menus that are larger than the main program window and must therefore be called up as external jobs). QSpread, DataDesign and Qascade also use system palette colours. Thanks. If anyone has tried out the colour themes package, you may have noticed I failed to explain how to cancel colour themes and go back to default colours. Just use a SP_RESET command. -- Dilwyn Jones -- No virus found in this outgoing message. Checked by AVG Free Edition.
