I'm not aware of widespread problems, but it's possible that some
combination of OS, RStudio version, and R version might be causing
problems. Unfortunately I don't think there's enough information in
this thread for anyone to tell if that's the case.

Obviously running R is pretty fundamental to running R studio. So it seems
rather odd to be thinking you'd need to stop using R studio unless you are
doing something odd
