Tony,
That is some great work! The bike and build are looking beautiful. I look
forward to a ride report.

Get some spacers for drive side. This would move the existing spindle inward on

Regarding your second question, the RD will work.
You can friction or index a 10-speed cassette with a 9-speed Shimano rear
derailer. The shifter controls the speeds and/or indexing; "SIS" derailers

Hi Tony, the bike looks great. I know others have expressed a preference
for the proto orange, but I much prefer this version.
It's interesting that the angle of your photos, from slightly more above,
really emphasizes the length of those chainstays!
Regarding the tediousness of tension,
If so, what were your reasons, was it the right choice, and what is your PBH
and height?
Thanks folks.

Aw, I was hoping to see my orange Cheviot included in the sightings. Had a
great ride Saturday from the Richmond Bay area to Berkeley for lunch, then
around the Bay Trail. Such a beautiful day. We don't get to have rides like
that without generally starting off with a car trip, so really enjoy

You really could go either way I suspect. Did you work with Rivendell? I'm
sure they set you up with the right stem/bar combo. If you do trail riding
now or ever, most people like the extra stand over height (I've never had
an issue with this.). Long way of saying if I'd gotten the 58 I'd
Tim -- wouldn't the sealant eventually form a "skin" inside the Pari Motos,

This is easy to fix. Get pitlocks for the wheels, a piitstopper for the
bars and seat, a micro U-lock (Abus) for the frame. Total cost, less than
$200. Security = 100%. Nobody will get your bike.

And I hope it can maintain it's allure to keep those cross-country
travelers excited about it!
There's talk of bumping it up to a full Imperial century this year... watch
out! The trick is to make it a shared course that everyone can enjoy. Will
be working diligently on that in the coming months!
What sealant did you use? (Should have asked this with the earlier email.)

That sounds pretty good and what I'm willing to do/carry but I'd say that's
65% security :p. If a thief wants your bike they're getting your bike.

Well, a big nevermind.
I forgot the wheel I have built up has an older Deore 7s freehub, so
obviously 10-speed (all 10) won't fit.
And I managed to take apart a couple pinned 7s cassettes to get a
reasonable range for my Clem.
For those interested, it'll be a 42t single chainring with a

Get rid of the GB shifter; get a Rohloff shifter. Very likely this will ease
shifting. I've seen this problem on a few GB setups and issues were solved with
swapping out for a rohloff shifter.
It may be that in these cases the recabling is what fixed the issue, but
unlikely because in two

Glad to know I'm not the only person that thinks so!!! I think this is a
really unique ride. Taking a bit from randos, centuries, fun rides, fondos,
singletrack. Mix it all together in sunny Southern California, and you have
bicycle goodness!

Yep, this is what I'm afraid of Deacon. I'm your size and measurement exactly
and looking at your photos, it's not as though your seatpost is bottoming out
or your bars are maladjusted.
I've got a 58 on the way and I think it was the wrong choice. Fret fret fret.

Thanks for help and suggestions. I swapped out the 110 for a 122.5 and the LBS
