to get things running on both macos and linux.

PYTHONPATH, etc...
When I run the tests with:
PYTHONPATH=/home/sly/projects/rdkit/ RDBASE=/home/sly/projects/rdkit/
LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/home/sly/projects/rdkit/lib ctest
