We have used these products often, but in Hybrid applications Really need to
use their device to activate them. Can be powered by the back up loads panel or
main in an off grid panel, just need to have a disconnect in line. The key is
all the negative wires have to go through their
Hi James,
I haven't had an application exactly as you describe with a tile roof /
plywood deck over metal trusses. However, we have installed systems with
metal roof support structures many times. Metal self-drilling screws have
impressive pullouts, so you might be able to use them with any sort
Mahalo for your response Sam. That makes me feel a little better.

Thanks for pointing that limitation out Dave. Would have been helpful if
one of the many different techs i spoke and emailed with at Schneider
support could have pointed that out to me before I spent too many hours
chasing my tail on this one.

Hi Howie !
I see the same thing except if you read the last line, they are saying
soon on the cloud. Good that it is working local though!

Hi All,
Has anyone successfully implemented the new AC coupled monitoring function
using a Wattnode meter (Gateway firmware V1.18) so that it shows up on
Insight Cloud? I have been able to get it to display on Insight Local, but
not on the Cloud. I have spent perhaps 20-30 hours on getting this
James,
I can think of one install I performed in 2017 that was a metal roof over
metal purlins and we opted to through-bolt the entire array using one
installer on a ladder inside and another on the roof. We employed butyl
mastic and large fender washers to attach a strut frame to the roof, and
I had a similar issue once with a Sol-Ark 12k, triple stack. The issue
ended up being that the phase relationship got reversed during the
installation. AC out and AC in need to be carefully phased out. I don't
really understand why, but it's an easy thing to check.
Let us know what you find.
Don,
Your Fluke clamp meter should indicate the current flow by showing a negative
or positive current reading unless you've got an old meter. On the top of the
meter inside the jaw is an arrow that points in the direction of current flow
if the reading is positive. If it's negative, the
I had a talk with tech support at APS about using the APSmart RSD devices
in my DC coupled system. I found it hard to understand him so I'm not
completely clear on what he said. One thing was clear and that is they do
not test these for use with charge controllers, so can't support that use.

Doh!, We ran into this several months ago and no one at Schneider could
explain it. So we had to tell our client to pick their preferred generator
as there apparently could only be one. Connected to AC 2. Now I know.

Jay,
I don't really remember, it was years ago that I had that setup, and did
not have any way to keep records except on paper which I did not do.

This may be far fetched but I have encountered good voltage & low amperage =
no amperage from solar arrays that baffled me on T/S on others systems &
ultimately:
We had voltage & low output amperage to no amperage.
Turns out there was a junction box that had been forgotten about in the
