The 8920A/B series are much better than almost all IFR monitors, with the
exception being the COM120B. To put it in simple terms, the HP 8920 is the
Cadillac of monitors, while the COM120B is the Mercedes.

Hello Jeff,
Yes , I've tried to feed the signal from my external reference
oscillator into the 1200, but it takes literately volts of signal to get
it to switch to the external osc. input.
Actually, the 1200 with the bad oscillator was a donor for my 1500 that
originally had the bad
Do you know what the output level is?

Hi all,
A little off Topic, but who might service a Cushman CE 50, without asking an

I forget what the spec was, but it seems to me it was less than +10 dBm. I
think there was a warning on it
Have you ever tried KG Electronics (http://kgelectronics.com

I remember talking to them before retiring the 1500, but I don't remember
what the price was to replace the CRT. The attenuator (mechanical) was
getting noisy/leaky too, so between those two problems, I
I just won a hp 8924C with the 100 watt mod in it. I hope i am not sorry.

You won't be unless you have to carry it somewhere, it's a monster

the going rate for an IFR 1200S is around $4,000 - the reason I'm looking for a
less expensive option.
If anyone can speak about Cushman monitors (the 4000) I have a lead on one of
those. Otherwise, I'll try my luck

I am going to have a Motorola box for sale shortly that needs a little work and
calibration Email me offthe list if you want information. It is a model
2210B. it is not dead only has a minor problem in the generate mode with the
fine attenuator control. Like a scratchy pot.
If you do opt to get an IFR and it has the high stability oscillator
option, make sure it works properly. I have a bad IFR1200 here that the
heater on the oscillator crapped out. The service monitor works, but it
is way off frequency and can't be adjusted. The last time I priced
