Here's the problem, since rebuilding and installing from CVS rockbox
approximately 2-3 weeks ago my boot up time has increased to about 4-5
seconds, it was more or less instant before. The only other thing I did
was re-format

I suggest you install Linux (Debian is really easy) and use that. I
started off using cygwin and found it painfully slow (on my PIII 600)
but after installing Debian, everything worked much faster and was more
enjoyable.
