Andre, Yes and no. Unless requested, SHS locomotives came with an electronic reverse unit for AC operation. I expect it would also work on DC, although I never tried it. The good new is the reverse unit had the standard 8-pin DCC plug and SHS also included a shorting plug for DC only

On my diesel switcher the AC board is replaced by the DC shorting plug. The AC board can then be removed from the unit. The units come with HiRail wheel sets installed and scale wheel sets in the box.So make sure that what you buy has either the set up you want or all the parts so

Thanks to all that offered good input to my AC/DC question. Sounds like I need to ask the right questions before purchasing on the secondary market. I don't think I fully realized there were internal options to configure with SHS items for DC use. (i.e. Shorting plugs, etc.) Reckon ol' Don
