Thanks for the quick response.
It is supposed to work. It's probably to do with
a bad interaction between the faked up connection
struct inside the msdfs code and the vfs object.
Can you reproduce with either 3.5.8 or 3.6.0rc2 ?
I've just upgraded to 3.5.8 from squeeze backports, upgrade went

I have no idea, but could it be that 'tmp' is not the directory /tmp,
but one of your samba shares, called 'tmp'?

Can I set a quota on Samba shared resources
We are using quota on the underlying filesystem (xfs, in our case), and
this works well with samba.
I don't think samba has it's own quota system.

You have several options. First, there are steps that you can take to
improve NFS security somewhat, such as restricting it to particular IP
addresses (although IP addresses can be spoofed). Second, you can use
NFSv4, which supports proper authentication. Third, you can use an

I have been trying to find out how to EXCLUDE certain files from scanning.
Appearentlty it works by MIME-type. You have to configure your own mime type in
/etc/magic, and then add that mime type to vscan-clamav.conf
Has anyone got this working?
-Original Message-
From: Karl Banasky
Does anyone have ANY idea what to put in /etc/magic to identify microsoft
outlook pst files?
scanning larger pst files (100 mb or so) currently raises my clamd cpu
processor usage to 90% or higher, and 'locks' ms outlook on the workstation
during the scan, so I'd rather not scan them and have
pdc:/home/danielop/outlook.pst # file -i ./Outlook.pst
./Outlook.pst: application/octet-stream
- -
So, the MIME-type is actually application/octet-stream, which is
a generic type for anything binary and not recognized by file otherwise.
Probably someone should try to add a real pattern

Firstly, Samba will always honour filesystem permissions. This means
that you would need to change those permissions first.
