I'd really like to know if I could use that solution to calibrate my
TDS-1? That would be good enough as far as I'm concerned.
For that matter, could you crank the calibration screw on the PWT
far enough to let it read ppm directly, and would that be reliable?
Here's something to try. Poor
Mike, Great thought out posting to Hanna. Thanks for the effort.

Actually, the lower the voltage
A somewhat simpler solution is to just lower the voltage. There
doesn't seem to be anything magical
about the value of 27 volts. I think it was originally just a convenient
voltage to generate that gave rapid results.
I suspect that the smallest particles are generated when

I may have gotten the ration fouled up...Situation Normal.
You divide the number of micro-Siemens in *half* to get PPM of Total
Dissolved Solids. So a calibration of 84 uS is equal to 42 ppm of total
dissolved solids.

I've seen the lavendar cast
This sure seems logical, to me anyway. I believe that higher voltage and/or
current would more violently separate the silver from the electrodes,
causing larger particles to break off. Conversely, using a small current
