Have you tried making it a little wetter, Dee?
Along those lines, does anyone have a recipe for black salve? It seems that
every link I follow for a recipe is a dead end. It would be a shame if it
was lost to posterity.

PT.. here is the source from the original 'cansema' black salve. I have
ordered from them in the past with no problem. If you have trouble with
the link, just google cansema and you have to dig a little but keep going
to their products/salves page. Lola
Just reread your post and see that you wanted a recipe for the salve.. not
the salve itself. Sry.. Lola

Where are you trying to apply the salve? I reread the instructions I
received with Cansema and. it says.. spread over the lesion in a thin
covering, almost lightly caked.. and it goes on...It is also a good idea

I've added DMSO to thin the dry salve; it should also carry it in pretty

They are saying that it can be the Zinc Chloride that is the problem -
causing extreme pain as well as being eschartic - I'm not clear whether the
salves work without the zinc or not. It certainly puts me off trying a salve
containing the zinc tho

Thanks Rowena. Is it all of these? The formula I saw several years ago
only had a few ingredients and they were all natural items. I'm sorry I
didn't save them. I have some of Tel's Black Salve but if anything happens
to Tel we will all have a problem!

It is on a dogs head! So I can't apply a plaster and we just couldn't get it
to stick on her head. I have mixed some silver in with it before because it
had dried, but it still won't stick. I did get it originally from Tel, and it
cured a horrible thing on my dogs head and I must say, I

Could you maybe wrap it under some of stretchy the vet wrap they use for horses?
If you were to put one of those circular shields around the dogs neck
it would stay put for a while at least.

Does anybody think that black salve would remove a boil (or very old

there's still a lump there. I've often thought if I had someone put some
black salve on it whether or not it would draw whatever is in there.out.

Lisa.. my understanding of the black salve that is used to treat skin
cancer is that.. it doesn't work on anything else. The most reaction you
might have is a little redness or irritation on a skin spot if it is not
cancererous.
I think bloodroot salve is recommended for warts, moles, etc. Some

This might not work, but sprinkling some cornstarch into the dog's hair and
then massaging the paste into that might make it stay in beneath the hair,
against the scalp. Sometimes dog hair is too slippery to start with, and
powdering it first could make the difference.

Remember, the small one only costs $15 the large one is $29 , it does not

Dee, if you have my BLACK SALVE it's old you may need to add a few drops of
H2O2 and that is to emulsify the B.S if its dry, You could warm it too, like
with a small pan on a small burner for just s few seconds. Warming dry BS can
revive it and help it stick to the target better too as it
