zgv still exists in Debian, using svgalib. You may want to check the
source packages to see if there are patches or newer upstream releases
that resolve the build issues you're seeing.

I'm using openSUSE 10.2, and I have this annoying problem where
Firefox's window doesn't render properly. Everything is kind of
shifted down, and when you move another window, or sometimes just
the mouse, over certain parts, it updates, going back to the correct
position and makes things
