Well you don't seem bothered by a very sensitive plane. So it seems like
maybe your incidence measurements might be inaccurate.
The dive test is a poor test of proper CG as the wing builds up speed it
creates more lift. You didn't tuck either which indicates you have more
to go...
Flying
It is my understanding that at the conclusion of
today's flying the preliminary rounds will be complete. If that is correct
than the USA Juniors have won the team championship. This is quite an
achievement considering that the German team has had a lock on this since their
first win in '98.
I might be reading this wrong, but it would seem that Joe is now in 10th
place after 8 rounds of flying and Tom is in 15th, Skip in 27th.

Here's a kid with F3J shaved into the back of his head:

I didn't see anyone at the NATS with XC shaved into their chest ;)

Ok, guys , I need to buy a plane.
My primary turned to dust a couple of weeks ago...
Anyone have a current F3B ship they want to sell.. MUST BE F3B layup.
Primary choices... Crossfire, Mike's F3B :-) , Victor
Also will consider older planes for right price. I saw a ship the other

Wow! New scores up on the site:
6th place - Joe Wurts
11th place - Tom Kiesling
Looks like David Hobby took a big hit and dropped from 3rd or 4th back
to 10th!
That also pushes Team USA to 2nd in the Senior Team competition!
Go Team!

Even though we can see only the scores and pix, it's exciting to follow.
The Canadians, Yanks, Germans, Czechs and Aussies each have two

How do you compute team scores when the pilot's final finishing
positions are determined in the flyoffs? Are the team positions
calculated on the pre-flyoff scores?
Thanks!

Hello
After going through Performance Tuning several times, I decided to tackle
my V tail Philp Sport from NeSail.
I put the GP incidence bracket on the root of the wing and got
itbalances laterally and horizontally.
Thev tail is too narrow to really take a second incidence meter. The
Just for the record, I have found that if you buy a pack of
cheep bamboo skewers (brochettes) that you can tape the straight ones to the lightweight
control surfaces and to the wing to get a visual reference for alignment. I
know it is low tech but it will get you close for a minimal
How does the plane fly? That's the big question. If it is
flying fine then I woiuldn't touch it. If you think you need to
move the stab so that its zeroed, then go ahead.
I did the same thing to my bandit which had a negative 2 in the
hstab. After zeroing it out, I found the plane was probably
I think I was 2nd or 3rd last year with a 45 point flight. This year, I
was 7th with a 10 point flight. Boom failed on launch. Borrowed an

You are correct, team scores are for the preliminary rounds. Flyoffs
don't count for team scores.

F3J Team scores are determined by the prelims only. The
fly-off determines the individual world champion.
Jim
Are all the scores from the Nats posted anywhere? Some people would
like to know where they finished and need the data to fill out the
LSF achievement form. Not me since I finished Level V contest
requirements 10 years ago.
