Not to start a fight, but in my aerotowing experience it would not be a good thing to use down elevator as a release. Many sailplanes tend to over run the tow plane, adding down elevator would make this worse. If all else fails at least up elevator has a tendancy to slow things down.

This is true. However, it should be mentioned that polyester finishing resin has a wax added to it to help cure. This should be removed with some sort of solvent before attempting to bond to it with epoxy. I asume you are not trying to apply an epoxy/mek combo to the fiberglass. Kristopher
