Hello All from stormy east coast of florida, I am looking for a model number
and source for a 6 volt battery for our Rham retreiver. It should have about
50 to 60 amp hours of capacity. This will be a reasonable sized package - not
too grunt heavy! Up to now I have been using three Trojan
Hi Jim - what I did for my Rahm retriever is get 2 big honking diodes from
the surplus store and put them in series with the power line. This cuts the
voltage down so the retriever runs nice on 12v. There are also cheaper
alternatives, I think on RCGroups there was a discussion about using a

Jim and Jim,
Another thing you can do to slow or speed up the retriever is change
the gearing ratio of the pulleys being used.
The one I built was just fine for speed, it's the same the TPG uses,
sized from the plans the designer sent me. Sal Peluseo.

*Hi
Jerry,
The pulley trickwon't work for the Rahm retreiver, it is direct drive. Only way to slow it down is electronically, either with a 6 V battery or cutting the voltage of a 12 V battery.

Go to an auto part store and ask for golf cart batteries. We ran Rahm
retrievers for years on these batteries. you also need a charger that will do

volts. The battery does not need to be very large. About half the size of
the 12 volt battery for the winch. The retriever is under much

Jim I use the above battery for retrieving my winch line at the end
of the flying session. I have a Tim McCann winch and I find the 12
volt battery a bit daunting when reeling in the line when the day is
done. The 6 volt battery is perfect for this task and I
I'm looking into renting an RV for the annual Visalia Fall Fest. I
remember there is a rental Company that
will bring the RV out and pick it up after the contest. Can someone
refresh my memory as to the name
of the Company?

Hello David,
I asked the same question and was told the company that did it two years ago
ripped a lot of people off by not returning their deposits, so they were not
recommending anyone anymore.

Charging is one of them. Any ideas?
Jim,
Buy a cheap set of jumper cables and run the retriever with these
hooked to a 12 volt battery. I ran my Rham that way for several years. If
Guys,
I hate to sound like Gordy, but I just read the design article about the
Kinetic in this latest issue and have to say it is the best article I have
ever read in a model magazine. It is very well written, has great pictures
and tons of great history of how this plane came about. This is
