Did Steven originally start with Python and master it or does he have
experience with other languages ? I realize all he does or prefers to do
is code, I'm not disrespected him, just had a question or two for him.

Hello,
I understand there are issues with CrowdFX and exporting via FBX, and I wanted
to check if the issues I seem to be having are part of that known issue. I'm

I can bake out an FBX fine, and read it into a new scene and it works fine and
dandy. Then i try and save the
Hi Andi
Without baking the fbx, does the CLSid errors occur? This issues occurs for
more than 1000 actors?

I've also tried the standard point cache procedure an i ended up with broken
materials in the cache. Not very handy, so at this rate i'll be rendering
locally on one machine!

Hi Ivan, the problem only occurs when i've imported an FBX with a few thousand
actors. I don't get it at all with the simulation scene i generate the FBX from

All the shape work on Justin

shapes), we hadn't enough time to refine ICE
workflows for nontechnical artist and not everyone on the team had a solid
softimage background (this was 3 - 4 years ago).
Mixer tends to be a bit messy,
The materials issue is something I repro when batch rendering on more than one
computer and using -skip.
I was asked to test this on the current SP1.
From my understanding, the scene has to be recreated in the SP1 because there
were some changes in the core compound most likely.
Hopefully that
I like to use the shape manager with multiple shapes hooked to controllers, or
parameter sliders (blend two shapes with a parameter slider left to right, eg.)
to later be saved with stored animations in clips in the mixer. I then play
with clip animation later only, with layered

Hi everyone,
I'm trying to access the individual elements of a two dimensional array of
a custom type.
I have no problems when the array is one dimensional, but when it is two
dimensional and I try to create subArrays, I get stuck.
You can't get access to a subArray of custom type by saying

Hello List,
I'm trying to randomize an animated sequence of a candle flame. It's a simple
scene with some scatter particles instanced with a group of 3 models (body,
plane with animated seq candle flame and a light for each model). With this
setup, the flames runs equal for every candle and
Hello Eduardo,
So you want to offset the start of your image sequence per particle,
right? If that's the case, you can do it with just a couple of nodes:
Set a random value per particle (even the ID of the particle may work),
then add the current frame and save it as a custom attribute. I
Orlando,
Thank you very much for your effort and that is exactly I was looking for. It´s
simply perfect and a pretty clever solution.
