I am looking for suggestions as to an appropriate text book for a
masters level cardiovascular physiology course. We are looking at
the Berne and Levy text, but would like other suggestions including
strengths and weaknesses. I will post a summary of the suggestions

That seems easy--McArdle, Katch, and Katch, Exercise Physiology, 6th edition,
Chapters 12-17, about 100 pages. Then add chpts about training and CV health,
and what a course! I couldn't resist the shameless plug. Many courses that use
the text are at MS level, including medical schools, and
I agree with Frank Katch that his book's chapters on CV function will
serve you well.
Just to add an alternative, when I was a doctoral student I took a mixed
masters/PhD course in cardiovascular physiology where we used Loring
Rowell's textbook Human Circulation: Regulation during Physical
