Hi,
Over the weekend I've been making some big changes to multipart
and I need until tonight to fully test and document fixes. I'd
really like this stuff to be in 1.1 beta. Would it be possible to
wait until tomorrow to release 1.1 beta? I think the changes will
definately benefit people using

I would be happy to sponsor a hotel conference room, ie. FREE room,
screen and projector on the 28th, say noon - end of day. (I have paid
for an extra room)
I am holding a paid Struts class AM on the same day.
Let me know if/how I can assist more.
Feel free to fill up the agenda, I could do
If someone were to propose it =:o), personally I would vote that we move
the Struts-specific portions of the Validator and Tiles up out of
Contrib, and make them top-level packages under share. In the case of
the Validator, I believe that's everything that is left, since the rest
has been moved
Hello Struts,
Now I try to use plugins in Struts - write my plugin, add a lot of
strings to the struts-config.xml -
struts-config
plug-in className=idm.common.struts.plugin.CastorMapping
set-property property=mappingConfigFileName
value=castor-mgmt-mapping.xml/

Since the method
ActionServlet.findDataSources()
has been deprecated, it would be great if the doc for the 1.1
release could show the recommended method of doing this (not
that it's difficult to figure out).

Another alternative is to have each frame navigate through a Struts action
instead of directly to a JSP. This is what I do - *everything* goes through
a Struts action, all JSP's live under WEB-INF.

If you'd like to post your recommended method to bugzilla as an
enhancment request, that would be great.
If anyone has notes or revised documentation to share regarding using
the new features, that would be equally great.

I'd be fine with that, assuming David and Cedric are too. If someone were to
propose it, that is. ;-)
What timeframe did you have in mind? Do you want to do that before beta,
between beta and release candidate, or after the 1.1 release?
I'm OK with holding up beta for a couple of days, for this
Currently, there's no example in Struts for use of the nested tags. This
should be fixed.
But to ask the committee's opinion on how... it can be anything from
just packaging up my existing monkey example, or make another which is a
little more straight :)
Another option is to adapt one of
I'm OK with that. A number of upload bugs have been outstanding for some
time now, and I'd certainly like to see them in the 1.1 beta. I'm sure other
people would, too.

The deprecation comment in findDataSource() says:
Look up data sources directly in servlet context attributes
However, unless I'm missing something, this seems to involve knowledge of
how the servlet context attribute names are constructed, which is
non-obvious. I think we need to provide a
Through informal discussion, we decided to go to Struts 1.1 Beta 1 on March

not produce a release plan, to be voted on by the committers. So the
question is, how should I best recover?
Here are a couple of options:

So what is the best way to use commons-logging - use one logger
