It could be an indication for equal hours in the morning and unequal hours (antique hours) in the afternoon: the fifth hour ... the fourth hour ... the third hour (of the day since sunrise) etc. The placement of the hour lines and of the style are, however, not correct. Willy Leenders Hasselt

Hi Bill and all, Could it be an am pm thing. I see the numerals after noon as AI and AII. A P for post would be more appropriate. In Latin A=ante =before but perhaps now A=after as in afternoon in globalspeak. Perhaps we need a Lingua Franca like Latin or Esperanto or English. Regards, Roger
