I have heard about kits that allow VW diesels to be installed in Suzuki
Samurais. What I am interested in doing is putting this engine in a
Nissan or Toyota pickup. Does anyone have any ideas about how I would
make the flywheel/clutch part work?

I just wanted to help you out here after reading your response to Curtis's
(Csakima) email. What I believe he was trying to say is simply this. SUV's
do not have to be the gas guzzlers that most of them are to day. That they
could be engineered to be much more fuel efficient than what they are
Dear Jean-Leon,
Personally I am passionate about energy saving, but I do not
think that the real and big problem with SUV is the consumption
of fuel. This assuming that it is a special vehicle and used for
activities that it is designed for and you are obviously doing that.
It is a
Sorry for interrupting the train of thought, but this stuck...
- AND I KNOW AN SUV DOES NOT HAVE TO EAT GAS.
Please enlighten us as to how this is possible. I guess Newton's Force= Mass

a higher, boxier body, and larger
They're turbocharged two-cycle, probably
Or maybe Detroit only makes two-cycle, but to get the most power large
engines like that are generally some sort of forced [or slightly
persuaded] induction.
The detroit diesel 2 stroke engine actually requires a supercharger by

irregular, for example, cut with a torch). Bungs are available from any
hydraulic/farm type place, and if you showed up on my shop's doorstep with
this job in mind, you'd walk away about 10$ poorer. The bung and valve
should cost you no less than 15$.

If you have access to a welder or weldor, the easiest way will be to have
them weld on a 3/4 bung, which is a small round piece of steel that is
threaded, kind of like a fat washer with threads in the middle...
And I now see that someone else has responded with way better info than I
did.
This is not so. The 5.7 liter Olds diesel was a new engine from the
ground
up. It shared external dimensions with other V-8 GM engines, but NONE of
the
internal parts are interchangeable.
Where did you get this information? Not doubting what you are saying,

these Canadian Land Cruisers may be just the thing. Does anyone have

I've had my fill of cracking my head or my knees in small cars, and I have

Do
you know if the BJ60's are DI or IDI?

Pontiac Fiero? That's pretty funny... this has got to be a joke!
ref http://
Actually the Pontiac Fiero, with it's deathtrap fire hazard status, is one
of the only vehicles on this list that should be banned for endangering the
public. Plus, it is often used for ferrari body kit conversions

Yes, that big diesel powerstoke to run WVO- biodiesel.. Got to help the
economy and keep some dollars in the states.
Or ,what you could do is NOT buy a diesel powerstroke. Boycott american
cars, buy a Volkswagen TDI and make people aware of the beauty of small
diesels. Then, maybe, one day,
too bad vw doesn't make anything I can put 1000 lbs of cargo in. I'll buy
the Ford thanks.
Hmm. A trailer, maybe? I've pulled 2000 lbs of gravel with a Golf. It was a
B$%$# to get it moving, but I only needed to do this a couple of times, so
it wasn't worth getting a 3$ pile of junk
Well,
I must admit, a Deuce is a little extreme, but I'd sure as heck call that a
truck. Although it is a little extreme for daily use.
I must stress the fact that I'm not some tobacco chewing redneck that drives
a lifted chrome plated chevy. I'm not simply sitting on my porch yelling
that they

Hello everyone,
I have just joined your list, and thought introductions would be in order.
My name is Jean-Leon Morin, I have been interested in biofuels for a couple of
years. I am in the process of converting a 1966 Land-Rover 109 (much like the

Also check your diff ratios too, the original ratios may be too low for
comfortable highway cruising.
Just a thought from a mechanic who is into repowering .
