I remember something we used at PETREL (like 15 years ago). We had to dial a
number and using an expect script we had to go through a text menu for sending
messages to a pager.
If I remember correctly, the settings were 1200 bauds, 7n1.. not totally sure
here, it was a long time ago. I think

operate a GSM device an every datacenter

I've got enough experience in politics to tell you that influence or 'being

Our Federal Court just decided that IP addresses are personal data and the
federal law about data protection must also be followed also for IP addresses.

it seems that some customers calling in with performance problems.
we've noticed that those customers are using astaro-firewalls.
Performance issue seems to be, no connection at all.
Yet again a fantastic FAIL of an ALL-IN-ONE-CAN-ALSO-DO-COFFEE firewall.

We use the good old pager which has some advantages:
- it works always, doesnt matter where you are (in switzerland indeed)
- you dont forget you have pikett ;-)
- you make clear who has pikett (as long as you have it, you have
pikett)
- you hear it (even your neighbors can hear it :P)
