Results from yesterday's meet in Glasgow include a national record in
women's steeplechase by Liz Jackson who was timed in 9:48.72. The previous

Lassiter won the 1500 at 3:50.78 with Downin in second at 3:51.06. Schwald
ran 4:07.33 for 4th in her race. Apparently the weather was kind of
crappy...an overcast and windy day according to the report that I read.

I'd say that the other big highlight is the continued excellent throwing of
Breaux Greer. Greer tossed 85.74/281-3.5 (I don't have my Big Green Book in
front of me so don't be surprised if my Imperial conversion is off by a 1/4
inch or something). He beat both Steve Backley and Mick Hill in the
Lassiter did NOT get A qualifying time at Glasgow; times in 1500 meters were
atrocious: 1. Lassiter, 3:50.78; 2. Downin, 3:51.06...
Schwald was 4th in 4:07.33.

And then there is Geb and his either left or right arm that he carries lower
than the other. Then going way back you have Zatopek's intense facial
contorsions.

Hi guys,
How about Bill Rodgers' running form ... he was definitely not perfect

The goal of such a race is to get from point A to point B. If Ritz can run
the distance at a faster pace than Webb then he will win. What Ritz should
probably do in such a race is to go out like a bat out of hell and drag Webb
along with him. Let's say both can run 8:35, which would be 4:17.5

Also, Lassiter (at least) got his A qualifier. Any word on how Downin
or
Schwald did?

OK, checking farther I find that while you can set up a beer tent in the area around
Hayward Field, you can't actually sell beer in the stadium. With the right licensing
you can serve beer (i.e., give it away), as they sometimes do in the VIP area atop
the equipment shed.
Ergo, the solution

Ok, which is it? 3:50.78 for 1500m doesn't sound like an A qualifier

There was an obvious typo on the IAAF site. They described the race as
very tactical and slow, on account of the weather

Not likely to happen soon. The essential equivalence between
