Earlier this year it was pointed out that Devers' fast times should be given more credence as many on the all-time list above her were from Eastern Bloc women during the days when drug testing, etc. wasn't what it is now. Similar situation with Guevara. 49.16 makes her number 11 all-time

What in the world makes you contend that whatever scrutiny should be exercized for Marita Koch (with a huge tally of excellent times over many years) should not be applied when looking at valerie Brisco-Hooks, who sparkled for one season but little before and none whatsoever after? UG
