Earlier this year it was pointed out that Devers' fast times should be given
more credence as many on the all-time list above her were from Eastern Bloc
women during the days when drug testing, etc. wasn't what it is now.
Similar situation with Guevara. 49.16 makes her number 11 all-time
Last Friday I wondered what Boulami could run these days at 3000m flat,
given that his non-barrier best is ony 7:42.99.
He actually talked about going for 3000 WR at post-race press conference in
Zurich:
3,000 flat in 7:20 is something very difficult. The problem is that I
cannot compare flat
I'm not sure Kajsa Bergqvist should be discounted either. 2.05 (6'8.5
converted w/ calculator not BGB) is pretty damn good and she's had a heck
of a season.

There was a dual between GB and Ger on 20/07 that went 73/2:29/3:30/4:09 and it
was a 1500 so it wouldn't surprise me.

Overlooked in the abundance of excellent performances at Zurich last Friday:
1500 meters - under 23
1. Alex Kipchirchir, Kenya - 3:32.95.
Reported date of birth: 26 November 1984.

Where and when? Can't find it anywhere on www.iaaf.org. That doesn't mean it
isn't there. The fact that he likely isn't getting 250k per year makes the
point. It isn't about ability. It's about marketability. Just think AK and
tennis.
