and I deleted them all.
Nervously, I then tried TB - which opened at its proper
speed, so I was able to type this report.
I don't think I'll risk closing and restarting it

I'm playing with the newest version I downloaded today... still not
switched-over as you can see ;)
I setup my primary account and spent considerable time figuring out how to
make the templates - the new message template in particular - more to my
liking. Then I created another account
inbox, so chances are, I may just have a corrupt index
JA file.
I had the same... I deleted all my .TBI files and started The Bat! again.
Then all was ok.

In fact, BkNews is OK if you have a very low usage of news.
If not, use Forté Agent or XNews... they have real possibilites in
managing lot of newsgroups
