I haven't seen zip downloads from launchpad but try
openerp.com/download/modules.html, though some of the modules are not upto date.

I want to get modules 10n_chart_us_ucoa and membership_card for my openerp 5.0.1
I put additional repositories in my repo list. When I hit Update Modules
List it says:
