Do you have any other Ubuntu disc (Old1)? Give it a try, if it shows the
same error, probably, your DVD rom is faulty. Or try this disc to some other
PC.

i can run this dvd on window.
i can also copy( but didnt copy full dvd ).
my dvd drive can run any other dvd properly.
i use hp 520 notebook so it may no chance to change cable.

solved when she got a new DVD drive.
Well, I had this same problem with some other operating system DVD as
well, solved it by getting a new DVD±RW.
In both cases, we were able to copy files. But for some reason it
doesn't work
My DVD RW was not writing iso correctly. I spoiled 3/4 CDs to write only 1
kubuntu ISO. later I bough a lens cleaner. It works now. :D

University was a success story. We distributed 100 Ubuntu 8.04 DVDs
for free (courtesy of Hasin bhai and Omi bhai) and overall I'm happy

i got a prob when installing *[483.05323] end_request:I\O error dev sr0
sector 10464* and finally it didn't install.
