I was moving disks around on my motherboard because the SATA cables
blocked a video card. Two disks were placed on a secondary SATA
controller on the motherboard which I hadn't used before. This has

Sure - a first step would certainly be to subscribe to the weekly
0.21-fixes as described on the web page above, and 9.04 includes newer
openchrome drivers. If it is fixed, there, then it is likely fixed on

In addition to removing the kernel module, the CUPS usb backend needs
full access to the /dev/bus/usb/*/* files to get fully functional. The
settings in /etc/apparmor.d/usr.sbin.cupsd need to get adapted.

I still have a problem with the mic on 9.04. I have tried some of the online
solutions. I have gnome alsamixer. In sound prefs I have alsa select for sound
capture. I have an external mic plugged in to the audio cable (pink one) on
realtek ALC888. I get this error.

Partial fix to create a bootable system is to create a GPT friendly
partition map. The explanation for this is long and circuitous. Google
parted + GPT + howto for details.
Here's one parted map which allows GPT disks ( 2Tb) to be used
smoothly, meaning grub without blocklists.

Tried watching .wmv video in firefox by clicking . As I click to start I
get the crash. Totem is 2.27.2.
