Do you think you can run the same script (fixbacklight.sh) as discussed
in Bug #875831 during start up using start up applications?

I created a script like: fixbacklight.sh which had the command to set backlight
to a certain amount using xbacklight.
Then I created a custom keyboard shortcut which ran this script. I am sure if
you dig a little bit you can find some file which gets run each time you login.
I just login and
Installed xbacklight. Seems to have fixed the bug. Also had created a
script which reset the backlight each time I logged-in.
