drive '/' is formatted ext4 correctly but errors when it starts to copy

I just log in. Thats all. Within 3 minutes or so the screen goes empty
(except for the desktop background) no windows or unity. After a few
seconds unity and all my windows come back with a box saying 'compiz-
core has crashed send error report?' From then on everything
I found that by reverting to the previous version of the driver will fix
things. It upgraded me to 6.20.155.1+bdcom-0ubuntu6 and my wireless
strength dropped to almost nothing. Downgrading to the 'quantal'
version 5.100.82.112+bdcom-0ubuntu3 fixed it for me, though this is most
certainly a bug.

For whatever reason the version of the wl driver supplied in raring
(6.20.155.1) does not work correctly with the 3.8 linux kernel. The
signal is extremely weak at best (if I'm very close to the router). At

This is not affecting the Guest user (or any other user) account. I
cannot reproduce this on any of my other x86 or x86_64 machines. I
tried deleting the transmission files in my personal folder but no
progress. Maybe this is just an artifact left from the original RC

I can reproduce this every single time when deleting large files from
ext3 partitions as well as ext4. I have too noticed that it is easier
to reproduce when the working partition is low on free space. In my
case though when reviewing the log files each soft lockup instance has

in a new html document.
Steps to Reproduce:
1) File - New - HTML Document
2) Right click anywhere in the document and click 'Page'.
(Or select Format - Page from the

When quickly navigating the filesystem with the main toolbar, the location bar
can't keep up and displays the wrong folders. The Nautilus main
window then becomes unresponsive to clicks.

When loading up OpenOffice.org applications in hardy alpha 5/6, the
splash screen shows OpenOffice.org 2.3 when the installed version is
2.4.0 rc 2 (package version 1:2.4.0~rc2-1ubuntu3).

This error does not seem to be present in hardy alpha 5. Unless anyone
else has problems like the previous one, I think this can be closed.

Error occurs using Hardy alpha 4 (hardy-alternate-i386.iso), and yes the
cd md5sums match and CD was tested for defects.
Near the end of the text-mode install, during the step 'Install the GRUB
boot loader on a hard disk', the installation halts with an error:
GRUB
Attempting to install LILO results in a similar error:
The lilo package failed to install into /target/. Installing LILO as a boot
loader is a required step. The install problem might however be unrelated to
LILO, so continuing the installation may be possible.
LILO installation failed.
I'll attach those as soon as I can.
